Rustam Minnikhanov meets Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui

On August 17, at their meeting on the sidelines of the ROSTKI Forum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia Zhang Hanhui for participating in the ROSTKI Forum and for his support in developing cooperation between Tatarstan and China.

“This forum is very important for further strengthening the friendly ties between Russia and China,” the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan said.

He emphasized that Tatarstan is making a significant contribution at the regional level to the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation. Last year, trade turnover between Tatarstan and China exceeded 3.35 billion US dollars. A number of joint investment projects are being implemented, while many enterprises in the republic have business partners in China.

“I am confident that with your support we have good prospects for cooperation in all areas,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Zhang Hanhui noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between Russia and China, as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the partnership and strategic interaction between the two countries.

“We attach great importance to the ROSTKI Forum. We believe it is an important event for developing trade and economic ties between Russia and China. We are seeking to involve as many Chinese provinces and organizations as possible in the forum so that more Chinese investors will come here to implement their projects,” the Ambassador said.
