Rais of Tatarstan visits Apastovo region and meets agricultural workers

On 14 August the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov went on a working trip to Apastovo region where he looked round a dairy plant, the construction of which started in the Village of Tabar-Cherki last year, and had a meeting with agricultural workers.

The plant which is planned to have 400 cows will produce 4,380 tonnes per year, or 12 tonnes per day upon reaching design capacity and, after commissioning other plant facilities,  it is planned  to increase the livestock number up to 1 200 creating 25 jobs.

Then the Rais of the republic had a meeting with heads of farms, investors and heads of rural settlements, where the Head of the region Ayrat Ziganshin reported that the area to be harvested amounts to 28 thousand hectares, 11.3 thousand of which have already been harvested with 42.4 thousand tonnes of grain threshed.  

He also noted that additional measures are needed to increase the livestock numbers in the region. 

The Minister of Food and Agriculture of the republic Marat Zyabbarov, who accompanied Rustam Minnikhanov during his trip, stated the well-organized work of developing the small scale farmsteads in the region, with new farms being built and farmers taking an active part in programmes of supporting agribusiness. In addition one of large investors is ramping up work in milk production and is planning to increase the livestock number, he said. 

In his turn, the Rais of the republic emphasized that Apastovo region makes a substantial contribution into ensuring the food security of the republic. He also noted that major agribusiness investment projects are being implemented in the region and work has been established to optimize production processes.
