Rais of Tatarstan takes part in opening a bust of Tukay in Kazakhstan

On 26 July, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a working trip to Kazakhstan, and the Akim of North Kazakhstan region Gauez Nurmukhambetov took part in a ceremony of unveiling the bust of Gabdulla Tukay, a classic of Tatars literature, created by a sculptor Vinera Abdullina and erected in a public garden named after the Tatar poet, and laid flowers. 

The garden is located near the regional center of the Kazakh poet, philosopher and educator Magjan Jumabaev whose creative work was greatly influenced by Gabdulla Tukay.

It was stated at the ceremony that life of Gabdulla Tukay is closely linked with Kazakhstan and the unveiling of the bust will strengthen cultural ties between peoples of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan.
