Rustam Minnikhanov gives an errand to complete grain harvest by the end of August

On 25 July, at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands concerning the harvest campaign.

The total area sown with grain crops this year is 1m 100 thousand hectares, including 568 thousand hectares of oilseed crops, he informed and said: “Our main task is to complete grain crops harvest by the end of August. Farms of the republic have all necessary fleet of harvest combines and drying machinery. The most important is to use them properly. The issue of fuel supply has been resolved.”

As the harvesting of animal feed also continues, the Rais of the republic reminded that it is necessary to have a one-and-a half year supply of forage. “It is needed for ensuring necessary conditions for overwintering livestock including those in private homesteads. This is a favourable year and the yield is sufficient for the development of forage crops,” he emphasized.

Rustam Minnikhanov gave an errand to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food to keep these issues on a daily control and resolve emerging problems in a timely manner, attracting special attention to matters regarding the organization of work for people involved in the harvesting campaign. “First of all there must be decent pay, compliance with fire safety requirements and the provision of hot meals. This is a very responsible period,” he concluded.
