On 23 July at their meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Director General of Russian Post Mikhail Volkov sing a document which is a supplement to the agreement on interaction signed by the Russian Post and the Government of the republic last year.

According to the document the Russian Post will erect new post offices using rapidly assembled structures or repair already existing facilities at least in 115 rural settlements of Tatarstan, all of which are included into the targeted programme of modernization of rural post offices being implemented by an errand from Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2022.

In its turn the republic will allocate funds on repairs or erection of new post offices at least for 100 rural settlements.

During the last four years 88 out of 1 112 rural post offices underwent modernization by the errand of the Russia President and now they are marked for their expanded range of services as on top of routine post services, the customers can verify their account of the Gosuslugi (Public Services) portal, and independently measure their blood pressure, blood oxygen level and body temperature at specially equipped health stations.

Post offices are important social infrastructure facilities as they also provide financial services such as sending and receiving mail and packages, paying utility bills, signing up for a subscription and buying essential goods.
