Rustam Minnikhanov meets participants of III International Children’s football tournament “The East Cup”

On 7 July the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with participants of the III International Children’s football tournament “The East Cup” held for 10-11 year old kids, which was established by the Rubin Football Club and the Ministry of Sports of the republic in 2024. 

In the current year the tournament gathered 12 teams from Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Belarus and, welcoming the participants, the Rais of the republic emphasized that the competitions have become an important platform for the development of youth sports, exchange of experience and strengthening friendly ties. “I thank athletes, coaches, volunteers and organizers of this wonderful sport fest. We will wait for you in the next year too,” he said. 

Then, the awards ceremony took place, with young Kazan Rubin football players having won the tournament, the Dinamo-Moscow team taking silver medals and the Arsenal from Tula – the bronze.
