Rais of Tatarstan attends Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in Mordovia

On 4 July the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy in Mordovia where there are more than 500 Tatar villages, three public organizations and regional national and cultural autonomy of the Tatars “Yaktashlar (Compatriots) which was organized in 1991. 

Accompanied by the Head of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov, Rustam Minnikhanov looked round Tatar homesteads of Nurlat region from Tatarstan and Lyambir region of Mordovia, where they were shown national customs. 

The Rais of the republic welcomed participants of the holiday and reminded that today Sabantuy is held in 62 regions of Russia and 40 foreign countries. “Today we are celebrating Sabatuy in Lyambir region of Mordovia where many Tatars reside. The hosts of Sabantuy are our good friends. We can fully feel your warmth and hospitality,” he emphasized. 

In his turn the Head of Mordovia thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his personal participation in the Sabatuy.
