Rustam Minnikhanov and Anna Tsivileva visit new building of the Tatarstan Branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation

On 2 July the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the State Secretary-Russian Deputy Minister of Defense and Chair of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation for supporting participants of the special military operation (SMO) Anna Tsivileva visited a new building of the Tatarstan Branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation in Kazan.

During their tour round the facility they were accompanied by the Director of the branch Guzel Udachina who told that the building was constructed in 1889 as an orphanage and during Soviet Time it was used as the House of Scientists.

By a decision of the Rais of the republic the building was given to the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and underwent capital overhaul, which increased its area nearly fourfold with two largest rooms for social coordinators, staff of the Monetary Aid Payments Center, the Social Fund of the Russian Federation, and the Multifunctional Center (MFC) located on the ground floor and the ceremonial hall for 100 seats on the first floor. Video conferencing facilities will be set up here for residents of Tatarstan districts to enable remote consultations and there is also a special block for those who need help selecting and obtaining prostheses.

Having completed the tour round the facility, Rustam Minnikhanov and Anna Tsivileva presented to veterans of the special military operation four specially adapted Moskvich-3 vehicles.

The Rais of the republic emphasized that since the first days of the SMO Tatarstan takes active part in issues of supporting the military and their families, collecting and shipping humanitarian aid and attaches great attention to facilitating work of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation.

“You have moved to a new building with wonderful conditions both for the staff and visitors. Today the Foundation is doing huge work to support our heroes and their near ones. Caring for veterans of the special military operation is our duty,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

In her turn Anna Tsivileva thanked the Leadership of the republic for support given to the work of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. “It is a wonderful building. The best conditions have been created for the staff. Today we also hand in cars to the SMO veterans and hope that they will be a great help for your families,” she said.
