Aleksey Pesoshin takes part in opening of the Abilimpiks championship

On 26 June Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Deputy Minister of Education Vladimir Zhelonkin took part in a ceremony of opening the professional skills Abilimpiks championship among participants of the special military operation (SMO) held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center from 26 June to 1 July. 

The main aim of the championship, organized by the errand from the Russian President Vladimir Putin, is to provide comprehensive rehabilitation of the SMO participants, to assist veterans with career guidance, mastering new vocations enabling successful employment or self-realization as an entrepreneur or self-employed individual. The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov also pays his personal attention to the project.

In his welcoming address, which was read out by Vladimir Zhelonkin, the Russian President said: “ I am sure that the informative business, cultural, sports and exhibition programmes, the atmosphere of honest competition and communication with experienced experts and like-minded people will allow you to truly shine, gain invaluable experience, move forward with confidence, and achieve your goals.” 

In his turn, Aleksey Pesoshin noted that the second Abilimpics championship has gathered more than 600 competitors from 86 regions of Russia. “Your participation is the best proof that the championship is really needed and creates real opportunities for the professional rehabilitation and career growth of our defenders,” he said. 

The regional Prime Minister noted that today all regions of the country attach priority attention to issues of social, medical and professional support of SMO participants and their families.

“The vocational skills championship brings together people who have endured severe trials and are now confidently building a new life. You have already proved your courage and resilience at the front. At the competition events you demonstrate no less determination: you master new professions, constantly develop, and strengthen our country’s well-being through your labor,” Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized and thanked everyone who took part in the championship preparations.
