On 18 June, following the Russia-ASEAN summit, co-chairs Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos made statements to the media, where Vladimir Putin emphasized that the summit work was fruitful and went in a friendly and business atmosphere.

“The strategic directions of cooperation between Russia and ASEAN countries for the future are set out in the Kazan declaration approved by the results of the summit. The documents especially underlines the commitment of all our states to the formation of a fair and democratic multipolar world order based on generally recognized principles of the international law and the UN Charter,” the Russian President said.

He noted that our country is always happy to welcome foreign guests and the interest they show in history, culture, and rich folk traditions of Russia. ”One of such ancient traditions- the Sabantuy holiday which will be held these days in Kazan and other Volga regions, is the best confirmation of this. I would like to congratulate everyone who will celebrate these events which are traditionally dedicated to the end of spring field work. If someone of participants of our summit has an opportunity to stay for two days longer, I am sure they will be impressed by a bright and diverse programme of these celebrations,” Vladimir Putin added.

This year the Sabantuy will be celebrated in Kazan on 20 June.
