Rustam Minnikhanov at the Sabantuy in Nizhnekamsk: Today two really national holidays – Tatar Sabantuy and Yakut Ysaakh have united here

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha Sergey Mestnikov took part in the Tatar national holiday Sabantuy held in Nizhnekamsk, which has also become a venue for the Yakut National Holiday Ysaakh  in the current year.

Speaking at the celebration, the Rais of the republic said: “Nizhnekamsk is our special pride it is the industrial heart of the republic, the city of strong and goal-oriented people which is celebrating its 60th birthday this year.”

He emphasized that today is a special day as the Sabantuy is held in the Day of the Russian Language and birthday of the Great Poet Aleksandr Pushkin.

“The richest Russian language is the state language of our country, a link between generations, a universal means of mutual understanding for all the peoples of our vast Motherland,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and congratulated everyone with the event.

He also attracted attention to the fact that today “on Nizhnekamsk land we welcome our dear guests – representatives of the delegation from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).” “I would like to thank the leadership of the Sakha for fruitful cooperation. Today two really national holidays – Tatar Sabantuy and Yakut Ysaakh have united here. This is a living example of how rich our country is and how organically our cultures intertwine, making us closer to each other and stronger,” the Rais of the republic said and wished everyone that Sabantuy and Ysaakh would bring joy, warmth of communication and confidence in the future.

In his turn on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Sakha Aysen Nikolyaev, the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Sakha Sergey Mestnikov congratulated everyone with the wonderful traditional Tatar holiday Sabantuy and said: “Every year this holiday unites dozens and hundreds of people of different ages and different nationalities. It is a really folk holiday. Last year, thanks to Aisen Nikolaev and Rustam Minnikhanov, for the first time the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) became the center for the federal Sabantuy. And we remember with warmth in our hearts this holiday, which symbolizes work and love for nature. And this year Nizhnekamsk became the center of unification of the cultures of our peoples.”
