Rustam Minnikhanov lays flowers to the monument of Aleksandr Pushkin at the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre after M. Jalil

On 6 June the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the Acting Chairman of the regional State Council Marat Akhmetov, and other high rank officials of the republic took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument of Aleksandr Pushkin at the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theatre after M. Jalil which is dedicated to celebrations of the Day of the Russian Language and 227th birthday of the Great Russian Poet.

In the morning, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, teachers, and schoolchildren gathered at the monument to honor the memory of the poet and read the most famous poems by Pushkin.
