Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with Governor of Novgorod Region Aleksandr Dronov: We are ready to share our experience in training specialists, in improvement of investment climate

On 4 June, speaking at his meeting with the Governor of Novgorod Region Aleksandr Dronov on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “According to results of last year our trade turnover reached modest 1.2bn rubles,” and stated that the figures do not reflect the economic potential of Tatarstan and the Novgorod region at all, and expressed interest in significantly increasing them.

A separate area of ​​cooperation is collaboration on the development of the Novgorodskaya industrial-production special economic zone. The Alabuga SEZ provided advisory assistance in its creation and the Governor of Novgorod region thanked for the meeting and help provided in organization of the Novgorodskaya Special Economic Zone.

“In July of the current year the zone will be five years old with investments of more than 130 bn rubles. Jobs are important for us and due to the SEZ we created nearly 1 500 of them. Thank you for the best practice,” Aleksandr Dronov said.

The Rais of the republic expressed his readiness to share experience of Tatarstan in training specialists, in improvement of investment climate, digitalization of economy and social spheres and implementation of e-procurement system.

In the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Aleksandr Dronov signed the Action Plan 2026-2028 on implementation of the agreement on cooperation between Governments of Tatarstan and Novgorod region in spheres of trade, economy, science, technology and culture.
