On 4 June at their meeting of the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Mikhail Kotyukov signed the Action Plan 2026-2028 on implementation of their agreement on cooperation in spheres of trade, economy, science, technology and culture.

Speaking at the meeting, the Rais of the republic noted that today the trade turnover is not as big as he would like and last year it made 14.5bn rubles.

“We are always ready to exchange experience in the spheres of supporting entrepreneurship and training specialists for industry at large branch resource centers. Our regions also have good opportunities for developing ties in the spheres of education and science, culture and tourism,” he said.

There are about 20 thousand Tatars living in Krasnoyarsk region and Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized: “I would like to express you my gratitude for supporting Tatars living in your region and careful attention to their cultural demands.”

“The Tatars are among the three largest ethnic groups in the region. They are very good people. Their Diaspora is the most active, “Mikhail Kotyukov responded.

The Governor of Krasnoyarsk region also agreed that the trade turnover figures do not correspond to the potential of the regions and it is necessary to strengthen this work and, in particular, proposed to exchange business missions.
