On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
“We strongly urge parents not to entrust water transport to children and to pay close attention to open windows. It is important to focus on protecting childhood,” Fazleeva said.
She also drew attention to the problem of “train hoppers” and urged children and teenagers not to endanger their health by riding on the exterior of public transport vehicles.
“Throughout the year, Tatarstan hosts numerous events dedicated to childhood and the promotion of children’s health. At the same time, the concept of motherhood is inseparable from these efforts, and we devote significant attention to this issue as well,” Deputy Prime Minister of the republic emphasized.
This year, the republic will implement a fruitful programme “Summer in Tatarstan”, featuring a wide range of events, including many activities for children.
Fazleeva said that the summer edition of the “Kurshe Fest” is also expected to be a major event. Applications for participation are being accepted until June 1. The festival offers support for the implementation of community projects.
This year, the festival introduces a new category, “Kurshe. Miras,” dedicated to creative industries related to the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage across 12 areas: architecture, cultural heritage, design, information technology, publishing, visual arts, music, performing and theatrical arts, gastronomy, crafts, photography and animation. Grants of up to one million roubles are available for projects in this category.
Aide to the Rais of Tatarstan and Head of the regional branch of the Movement of the First youth organization Timur Suleymanov spoke about plans to organize teenage discos. He noted that to regain their popularity, such events need to be adapted to contemporary interests and supported by a proper methodological framework.
“It is important to approach this issue systematically. I believe we can successfully revive the discos that were so popular during our childhood. Today they require modernization in order to appeal to contemporary teenagers. We have already conducted training sessions for organizers. The most valuable aspect of these events is live communication,” Suleymanov said.
At the briefing, he also said that a Childhood Festival will be held at the Kazan Kremlin on June 1, International Children’s Day. The programme will include workshops, performances by guest artists, sports activities and many other attractions.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. on June 1, the main stage will host performances by artists, DJs and creative groups.
An interactive zone and sports grounds will be set up at the Kazan Kremlin. Scientific and creative workshops will also be held in the courtyard area.
The celebration will finish with an evening disco.
The Children’s Rights Ombudsmen for Tatarstan Svetlana Zakharova said during the briefing that a hotline dedicated to children’s issues will operate during the first week of each summer month.
“We are launching a hotline covering all issues related to children. In addition, we plan visits to children’s camps, where we will answer questions from young participants,” she said.
Meetings with healthcare professionals will also be organized at children’s camps to provide information on maintaining good health.
