On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.

He also informed about progress of sowing vegetables, sugar beet, rapes and sunflower and reported that there are more than 1,200 sprayers available on farms in the republic for processing crops and that today, protective measures have been carried out across the republic on an area of ​​340 thousand hectares.

Marat Zyabbarov also informed about the readiness of forage harvesting equipment, the condition and preparation of forage storage facilities and plans for the forage harvesting period.

Addressing heads of farms, the regional Minister reminded:” To ensure timely and high-quality forage harvesting, it is necessary to ensure the readiness of equipment, haylage trenches, and the purchase of covering material.”
