Marat Khusnullin takes part in a meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic world”

On 15 May on the sidelines of the XVII the International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum", the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin, who is also the Chairman of the Forum Organizing Committee, took part in an annual meeting of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-the Islamic world” held by the Chairman of the Group,  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov  with participation of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office in Russia Magomedsalam Magomedov, the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov and international colleagues and religious leaders.

Marat Khusnullin read out a welcoming address from the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who stated that cooperation of Russia with Islamic states is based on shared values, respect for cultural diversity, and partnership-oriented dialogue, and it is symbolic that the forum is being held in Tatarstan, a region that cherishes traditions of interethnic harmony, while Kazan proclaimed the Cultural Capital of the Islamic world confirms this status by its hospitality.

“We are meeting at a fateful time – when Russia is under pressure from the collective West, and the Middle East is witnessing another escalation of a conflict.  In these conditions, strategic partnership of Russia with Muslim countries takes on particular significance. Strengthening mutual understanding and direct contacts between our countries is one of the objectives of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – the Islamic World”. Under conditions where dialogue is becoming scarce, it is intended to become a platform for coordinating efforts to find paths to peace. Long-term cooperation confirms that the values ​​of our states and peoples really do coincide in many ways. I am confident that only through joint efforts, relying on our traditional values, mutual respect and the pursuit of justice, can we build a prosperous future for our peoples and ensure well-being for future generations,” Marat Khusnullin said.
