Rustam Minnikhanov at a lying in state ceremony for General Renat Timerzyanov: I think he is an example of what a policeman should be

On 10 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of the Main Directorate for Ensuring Public Order Protection and Coordination of Interaction with Executive Authorities of the Entities of the Russian Federation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Lenar Gabdurakhmanov, the Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan Viktor Demidov, the Chief of Staff of the office of the Rais Asgat Safarov, the Deputy Internal Minister for Tatarstan Aleksey Sokolov and other officials, relatives and friends, took part in  a ceremony of lying in state of General Renat Timerzyanov held in the Pushkin Concert Hall in Kazan.

Opening the farewell ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “All his life Renat (Zakievich) served to our republic and our country. Wherever he served, he was an example for everyone. I think he is an example of what a policeman should be. I have known him for many years when he worked at various positions. It is a great loss for all of us. I express my sincere condolences to all his near and dear ones, colleagues, friends and everybody. May the earth rest softly upon him. We will always remember him as an example of serving to the republic and our Fatherland.”

After farewell speeches of Asgat Safarov and the Counselor for the Rais, Ravil Muratov, Viktor Demidov read out telegrammes of condolences from the Russian First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Andrey Kurnosenko and the Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov.

The Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimev also sent his telegramme of condolences.
