Rais of Tatarstan: Names of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the valiant work of home front workers will remain in our hearts forever

On 9 May, Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and veterans of the WW II and participants of the special military operation took part  at a ceremonial reception on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War held in the Kazan Kremlin.

Speaking and the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that names of heroes of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) will forever remain in our hearts, and emphasized that the Victory Day is the main holiday of our country which unites generations. “This is a day that combines feelings of pride for our multinational people and deep gratitude, grief for the dead and eternal memory.  For each of us the Victory Day is a sacred holiday, the symbol of unbending will and unity of our country.” 

He stated that fortitude and selflessness of war veterans gave us the peaceful sky above  and an opportunity to build the bright future for children and grandchildren. “We are forever in your debt! We will always remember the price of Victory and honor the memory of the millions who gave their lives for peace,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and also expressed words of gratitude to participants of the special military operation who took part in the ceremony.
