Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev pay tribute to memory of heroes of the Great Patriotic War in the Victory Park

On 9 May the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the State Counselor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and other high rank officials took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Flame of the colonnade of the Glory Memorial in the Victory Park in Kazan.

The guests also laid flowers to the Monument of Mothers and Widows of the Fallen and the Monument of the Soviet Soldier and Rustam Minnikhanov talked to veterans of the special military operation (SMO), having told them about the implementation of the project of the Memorial Zone dedicated to the participants of the SMO and laying flowers to the memorial stone. 

Then Rustam Minnikhanov and Mintimer Shaimiev went by a rare ZIL car to the Millennium Square to watch a ceremonial parade of the Kazan Garrison soldiers.
