Rustam Minnikhanov hands in state awards of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan at the Kazan Kremlin

On April 29, in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an awarding ceremony dedicated to the celebration of May Day and Victory Day on May 9 and handed in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan to distinguished residents of the republic.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that during the Year of Military and Labor Valor, events are being held across Tatarstan to honor outstanding workers and defenders of the Fatherland. “These events are aimed at strengthening respect for labor and military service, preserving historical memory and educating young people through the example of true heroes,” he said.

The Rais of the republic emphasized that despite all challenges and difficulties, Tatarstan continues its steady development and maintains leading positions among the regions of the Russian Federation in key macroeconomic indicators.

“Significant positive transformations are taking place in the republic in education and healthcare, culture and youth policy and social protection. The implementation of large-scale projects aimed at improving the quality of life of our citizens would not have been possible without the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Government of the Russian Federation,” Minnikhanov said.

With special warmth, Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the honored veterans, the participant of the World War II Aleksey Ivanovich Pisarev, who took part the ceremony. He emphasized that the feats and labor of previous generations made great contribution to the Great Victory and the post-war reconstruction of the country. “Your example inspires current and future generations to serve the Motherland and work conscientiously,” he said.

The Rais of Tatarstan expressed gratitude to the servicemen, taking part in the ceremony — natives of the republic who are courageously fulfilling their military duty in the special military operation zone.

The ceremony brought together professionals and outstanding specialists from various areas who were honored with high state awards, including labor veterans, oil industry workers, cultural figures, builders, lawyers, as well as employees of the education and healthcare sectors, agriculture and housing and utilities services.

“Your achievements demonstrate the systematic development of all sectors of our republic’s economy. You are a source of pride and an example for work collectives, as well as for your children and grandchildren”, he said addressing the participants.

Minnikhanov congratulated all participants on their well-deserved awards and on the eve of the upcoming holidays wished them good health, prosperity and new achievements for the benefit of Tatarstan and the Russian Federation.

In total, 51 state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan were handed in.
