Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting of the Council for Culture and Art: Culture and its development as well as the dialogue of cultures is always important for multi-ethnic Tatarstan

On 23 April the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the regional deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva took part in a meeting of the Council for Culture and Art where the keynote speaker the Minister of culture of the republic Irada Ayupova told about what has already been done and about infrastructural and educational projects to be implemented for shaping the cultural environment of the republic, giving important place to national identity.

In particular she reminded about the Unique Crafts Center to be opened on 29 April in Kazan, about the project “Children for children” aimed at the development of artistic skills of schoolchildren and introducing them to theatrical culture, about the Pushkin Card project, the programme "Zemsky cultural worker", the aim of which is to adapt it to modern working conditions in cultural centers and rural clubs and others.

After Irada Ayupova spoke about the experience of other regions that use a cultural approach in education and attract the attention of schoolchildren and young people, the Head of the department of China Studies of Kazan Federal University Svetlana Glushkova informed about a systemic analysis of the educational model of China she has made, paying particular interest to the development of patriotic education.  

Other participants of the meeting such as the Director General of the Tatarstan National Museum Ayrat Fayzrakhmanov and the founder of the ZRGroup Company Rustam Bikmukhametov told about work of their organizations.

In his concluding speech, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that culture and its development as well as the dialogue of cultures is always important for multi-ethnic Tatarstan with representatives of 175 ethnicities living here. He also stated that the Unique Crafts Center in Kazan will become a unique space for Russia

He said that this Center is considered to be a tool for supporting craftsmen and preservation of the cultural heritage and added: “It is important to teach children so that these crafts are not lost.”
