Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin: The number of people with high incomes is growing in the republic with 39 residents having billion-dollar incomes

On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget,  he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
Thus Marat Safiullin said that residents of the republic must submit personal income tax declarations no later than 30 April and to pay taxes by 15 July. According to him, this applies to both citizens and individual entrepreneurs using the general tax system, notaries, lawyers and arbitration managers.
However, there are a number of cases when the declaration is not submitted, for example when selling the real estate that has been owned for more than five years, or if the property was received as an inheritance or a gift from a family members or close relatives, as well as if the only home that has been owned for at least three years is sold
“Starting from 2021 family with under-age children were granted the right to be free from paying real estate sales taxes, and the list was expanded in 2026, including disabled kids and children born before January 1 of the current year,” Marat Safiullin informed.
 The Head of the Tax Service for the republic emphasized that every year residents of Tatarstan become more disciplined and the service records a decrease in tax evasion. The Service has received 556 thousand declarations which is nearly twice more than in the previous year,” he said.
He also informed that the number of billionaires in the republic has increased from 37 in 2024 to 39 in 2025 and added that last year the taxpayers with incomes from 1 million to 1 billion rubles submitted 121 thousand declarations.
In conclusion Marat Safiullin said that is it more convenient to submit a declaration through the personal account on the site of the Federal Tax Service and informed that nearly 2m residents of the republic already use this service.
