Rustam Minnikhanov meets Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent

On 20 April at his meeting with the Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov warmly welcomed the Leader of the country and thanked him for his personal attention to the development of cooperation with Tatarstan. “The trade and economic cooperation of Uzbekistan and the republic is developing progressively. Last year our trade turnover demonstrated the growth by 13.5% and exceeded 427m dollars US,” he said. 

The Rais of the republic noted that such growth is possible due to the well-established cooperation between enterprises of both parties and a number of these enterprises are currently taking part in the international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia”. “We consider this exhibition to be an important platform for strengthening cooperation with countries of Central Asia and first of all with Uzbekistan, which is close to us,” he assured. 

The parties also discussed joint projects on the establishment of industrial parks and the Uzbekistan President expressed his high assessment of these projects, in particular industrial sites in Jizzakh, Chirchik, Navoi and Bukhara. He also noted the personal contribution of Rustam Minnikhanov into the success of these projects.

In conclusion of the meeting, the Rais of the republic invited a delegation from Uzbekistan to take part in the upcoming International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum”.
