Rustam Minnikhanov meets Head of the Volga-Vyatka Main Branch of the Bank of Russia Andrey Popov

On 15 April at their meeting in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the Tatarstan Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiahmetov and the Head of the Directorate of the Volga-Vyatka Main Branch of the Bank of Russia for the republic Marat Sharifullin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Head of the Volga-Vyatka Main Branch of the Bank of Russia Andrey Popov discussed issues related to the current economic situation in the republic.

Speaking at the meeting, Andrey Popov thanked for the well-organized exchange of information about the condition of the regional economy with the Ministry of Economy and other branch ministries of the republic and stated that this information helps to reveal new trends and deeper understand the economic situation. Therefore, the assessments and vision of ministries are required for decisions on the key rate.

He said he was sure that enterprises of the republic have a high potential for entering the IPO market. It its turn the increase of the number of regional companies in the public market will have a positive impact of the budget of the republic, he said.

A significant area of ​​activity for the Bank of Russia is increasing the availability of financial services in rural areas, which generally impacts the quality of life. Tatarstan is implementing a project “The Rural Personal Account” which is used for access to state and financial services for making payments and transfers, paying taxes and utility bills, etc. The first seven such accounts were already opened in Drozhzhanoe and Kaybitsy regions of the republic.

Following results of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in all areas discussed.
