Rais of Tatarstan: Egypt has gone through large scale transformations

On 14 April, speaking at his meeting with the Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Madbouli in Cairo, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov informed him about a fruitful meeting with the President of Egypt he had, emphasizing that Russia traditionally is a reliable partner of Egypt in the sphere of food security.

In his turn the Prime Minister noted the special role of Rustam Minikhanov as the Chairman of the “Russia-the Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. “Your today’s meeting with the President is a sign of good relations between our states,” he said and emphasized: “I congratulate you with Kazan being awarded the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026. Preservation of cultural heritage is important work and we are always ready to work together with you. I wish you a successful KazanForum.” 

After he expressed hope that the Russian industrial zone in Egypt will begin operations in the near future and declared his readiness to use the experience of Tatarstan industrialists, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Tatarstan as one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia and its link in contacts with the Islamic world, gives the relations between our countries additional dynamics and practical content. In this regard, I would like to note the significant growth in Tatarstan-Egyptian trade turnover, as well as the high potential for its further increase.”

He briefly told about the economic and industrial potential of the republic and those spheres which might be interesting for Egyptian partners for cooperation and shared his impressions of visiting Cairo. “Since the time of my last visit to your country Egypt has gone through large scale transformations, which effected economy and infrastructure. One of the most notable achievements was the construction of a new capital. This is a symbol not only of a strategic vision for the future of the country, but also of a comprehensive approach to the formation of a modern urban environment, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the creation of new points of economic growth,” Rustam Minnikhanov stated. 

In conclusion the parties of the meetings defined Ministers of Industry of Egypt and Tatarstan as the key persons who will supervise concrete projects within the cooperation framework.
