Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with a delegation from Brest region: There all opportunities for further expansion and deepening of the partnership with Belarus and its regions

On 7 April at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Chairman of the Brest region Executive Committee Petr Parkhomchik, who came on a working visit to Kazan as the Head of the region’s delegation, discussed further steps in the mutually beneficial cooperation at the inter-regional level, exchange of delegations and implementation of joint projects.

Later at an expanded meeting Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the previous meeting was at the International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Belarus” in Minsk in September 2025. He also informed that last week a concert dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus took place in Kazan. “This day reminds us about important values – unity, concord and good neighborliness. We in Tatarstan highly appreciate an opportunity of expanding interaction with your country and its regions within the framework of friendly Russia-Belarus relations,” he said and emphasized that in the whole Tatarstan and Belarus have rich history of mutually beneficial partnership.

“We interact in the most broad range of spheres including automobile and petrochemical industries, agribusiness and advanced technologies,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and emphasized that there all opportunities for further expansion and deepening of the partnership with Belarus and its regions.

In his turn Petr Parkhomchik briefly told about economy of Brest region and said: “When visiting Belarus, everyone tries to come to our region. It is a unique, beautiful, historical and heroic place. One of important spheres of its economy is agriculture. In particular, it exports about 3bn dollars US of agricultural products.”

He stated that the agenda of the Brest region delegation visit is very busy and the delegation consists of heads and representatives of key organizations and industrial enterprises of the region. Petr Parkhomchik concluded that this shows interest and willingness to cooperate.
