Tatarstan Ministry of Agriculture and Food: This year, spring sowing in the republic is scheduled to take place on an area of 1.7 million hectares

On 4 April, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of the Acting Chairman of the regional State Council Marat Akhmetov, the First Deputy Minister of agriculture and Food of the republic Lenar Garipov reported about preparation to spring field work.

He informed that in the current week farmers in nine regions of the republic have started fertilizing, having processed 1 323 hectares of winter crops and 595 hectares of perennials.  Lenar Garipov also told that fertilizing work completion will take another 20 days and informed about the amount of procured fertilizers and spring sowing seeds.

Spring sowing in the republic is scheduled to take place on an area of 1.7 million hectares, the regional Deputy Minister said and added that the main resource during seasonal work is personnel. Farms actively cooperate with secondary vocational schools and universities, which are currently training more than 6 600 students and if there is a labor shortage, senior students, who are provided with accommodation, food, and salary, are invited to join, he concluded.
