The Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich

On April 2, at their meeting at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre on the sidelines of Kazan International Energy Forum “Energoprom” and related events, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Viktor Karankevich exchanged views on a number of topical issues, including prospects for further cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Belarusian side for its attention to Tatarstan and for the visit to the Energoprom forum and emphasized that the forum is an important platform for strengthening cooperation in the energy sector.

Belarusian delegations traditionally take part in the Energoprom forum, the Tatarstan Petrochemical Forum and other major events. The Rais of Tatarstan also said that a concert dedicated to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus was held in Kazan the day before.

Rustam Minnikhanov reaffirmed that Tatarstan remains open to interaction with Belarus across a wide range of areas.

The previous meeting between Minnikhanov and  Karankevich took place in Minsk on the sidelines of the INNOPROM. Belarus in September 2025

Cooperation between Tatarstan and Belarus is carried under the intergovernmental agreement. Agreements have been signed between ministries and agencies, as well as between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan and Belarus. Coordination is ensured by a joint working group co-chaired by Karankevich and Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Oleg Korobchenko.
