Rustam Minnikhanov has a meeting with Kyrgyzstan Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev in the Kazan Kremlin

On 1 April at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Kyrgyzstan Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev, who came as a Head of the delegation to take part in the International Electric Power Forum Energoprom-2026, discussed the development of mutually beneficial ties and cooperation.

In his welcoming speech the Rais of the republic thanked his guest for the attention to Tatarstan as a region of Russia and for cooperation aimed at strengthening Russia-Kyrgyzstan relations.

He reminded about the 2025-2027 Action Plan signed last year at the St Petersburg International Forum on implementation of the Cooperation Agreement between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan and asked to pass words of welcome to the President Sadyr Japarov and the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, who is also the Head of the Presidential Office, Adylbek Kasymaliev.

The Rais of the republic noted that a delegation of Kyrgyzstan will be waited for at the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum” which will be held in the upcoming May.

He also informed that according to the results of last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Kyrgyzstan increased but there are good prospects for its growing and said that large industrial enterprises in the spheres of machine building, oil production and refinery are represented in Kyrgyzstan market.

The Rais of the republic said that alongside with economic and industrial cooperation Tatarstan attaches special attention to developing cultural and scientific joint work and reminded that there are about 340 Kyrgyz students at universities of the republic, proposing to increase their number.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Kyrgyz delegation for their visit and participation in the Energoprom events and concluded: “Today power industry is the backbone of any economy and it is important to develop it and to share developments with colleagues.”

In his turn Taalaibek Ibraev thanked for a warm welcome and a programme which was organized for the delegation and informed that Kyrgyz power specialists have visited a number of power facilities and got acquainted with modern technologies and equipment used there.

He said that Kyrgyzstan is interested in studying experience of the republic in power industry and other spheres, including that in advanced technologies, and emphasized that the participation of the Kyrgyz delegation in the Energoprom Forum was very important for it.

Taalaibek Ibraev invited a delegation from Tatarstan to take part in the International Forum named after Chingiz Aytmatov to be held on the banks of the mountain Lake Issyk-Kul in July this year and reminded about the World Nomad Games to be held in autumn.
