Rustam Minnikhanov meets Uzbekistan Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov

On 1 April in the Kazan Kremlin, speaking at his meeting with the Uzbekistan Minister of Energy Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, who came on a working trip to Kazan to take part in the International Electric Power Forum Energoprom-2026, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minikhanov stated that cooperation of the republic with Uzbekistan is developing dynamically every year, with new projects being implemented, the existing contacts expanding and mutual visits taking place. He also reminded that Uzbekistan President Shavkat Miziyoyev visited Tatarstan twice in 2024.

The Rais of the republic said that the trade turnover between the republic and Uzbekistan is growing and last year it exceeded 427m dollars US demonstrating the increase by 13.5 per cent. A number of enterprises of the republic work with Uzbekistan and the development of trade and economic ties is facilitated by the successful work of the Representative office of the republic in Tashkent and the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Kazan as well as by direct flights from Kazan to Tashkent, Samarkand and Fergana.

During their meeting Rustam Minnikhanov and Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov discussed prospects of the development of cooperation in such spheres as power and oil processing industries and the consumers’ cooperation. 

The Rais of the republic also invited Uzbekistan partners to take part at the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum” which will be held in the upcoming May.
