A two-months ecological cleaning up starts in Tatarstan on 1 April

On 28 March, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Azat Ziganshin informed that the regional central cleaning up action will be held in the republic on 25 April and clarified that the location of the national cleanup day will be announced later as the site will be chosen taking into account the opinions of Tatarstan residents.

He also informed that a two-months ecological cleaning up campaign starts in Tatarstan on 1 April and all environmental protection bodies and municipalities are switching to an intensified mode of work to clean up areas after winter. This includes  first of all cleaning of waste deposits and improvement of public spaces.

“The two months cleaning up is our joint large scale and coordinated work,” the Minister said and emphasized that it is necessary to ramp up work to identify violations of environmental legislation and to prevent illegal waste deposits.

Speaking about the nearest large events, Azat Ziganshin stated that the traditional ecological competition Ecospring is one of them and it will begin on 1 April.
