Rustam Minnikhanov meets Governor of Anhui Province Mister Wang Qingxian

On 18 March, speaking at his meeting with the Governor of Anhui Province Mister Wang Qingxian during his working trip to China, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that today Russia-China relations are at the unprecedented high level which makes it possible to have more active interaction at a regional level.

 The Anhui Province is located in the east of China and is a home for more than 8500 high tech enterprises in the spheres of automotive manufacture – the Chery Automobile and JAC Motors Companies, production of construction materials, pharmaceuticals and food products as well as logistics, power industry and financial services.

Speaking to the Governor of the Anhui Province, the Rais of the republic said: “In recent years, your country has become a key foreign investor in the economy of our republic, with the share of Chinese investments having exceeded 62 per cent in the foreign investments structure last year.”

He also noted that the republic is expanding the joint innovative and industrial projects portfolio with China in various spheres from machine building to high tech in IT and power industry. Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned putting into operation the largest logistics center in Russia located in the special economic zone of Alabuga and covering the area of 670 thousand square meters and the Agreement signed between Tatarstan and the Province in 2017.

He also reminded about the annual ROSTKI forum held in Kazan and invited the Governor and participants from the province to take part in the fourth Forum to be held in August this year.

In his turn Mister Wang Qingxian said: “It is very pleasant to meet you again and to express you the warmest welcome on behalf of the Government.”

He reminded that at their last meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Leader of China Xi Jinping discussed necessity of intensifying contacts in all spheres.

”We take our cooperation with Tatarstan very seriously and with great hope,” Wang Qingxian said and added that China is interested in cooperation with the republic in such spheres as oil production and refinery, aircraft- and automobile building.

“I also propose to ramp up our cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. This year marks the Russian-Chinese Year of Education. This is a good opportunity to establish cooperation between our universities and student exchanges,” he concluded.
