Rustam Minnikhanov visits charity Iftar in Moscow during the Ramadan Tent project

On 12 March within the framework of the cultural and educational project the Ramadan Tent, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a charity Iftar traditionally held at the Memorial Mosque on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.  

This year the Iftar was organized by the Plenipotentiary representative office of Tatarstan in Moscow with the support from the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia.

It is expected that during the current month the Ramadan Tent will host more than 50 thousand guests from different regions of Russia and various countries.

At the event Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the guests and attracted special attention to the fact that there are participants of the special military operation among the guests. “Today the entire country, as a single entity, is fighting neo-Nazism. And, of course, the example of our heroes is very important,” he said.

“In general, in difficult times, we must show unity, unity within Russia, unity with the world. In such a difficult situation, the Islamic world remained together with Russia. It is very important. Here we have representatives of many Islamic countries, and we hold many events together. I am very grateful to you,” the Rais of the republic stated and handed in a number of Tatarstan state awards.

In his turn in his welcoming speech the Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia, the Chief Mufti Ravil Gaynutdin congratulated Kazan on being awarded the status of the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2026.
