Rais of Tatarstan visits Vostochny launching facility

Upon his arrival to the Amur region the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnihanov accompanied by the Governor of the region Vasiliy Orlov went to the Vostochny launching facility located in 180 kilometers from Blagoveshchensk, where he got acquainted with the Soyuz launch pad designed for launches of the Soyuz-2 family of rockets.

A unique mobile service tower which makes it possible to carry out all pre-launch work under the harshest climatic conditions has become the launch facility business card.

The second Angara launch complex, designed for launching launch vehicles of the same family, also aroused great interest of the Rais of the republic. The first launch of the Angara A-5 heavy rocket took place on 11 April 2024.

To date, 21 launch vehicles have been launched from the facility, and more than 300 spacecraft have been launched into their target orbits, and Rustam Minnikhanov was told about projects of a promising reusable methane rocket "Amur-LNG” which is expected to have a returnable first stage and will take off from the Vostochny launching facility.

In conclusion of the tour round the facility the Rais of the republic was demonstrated a set of measuring, collecting and processing equipment that provides trajectory measurements of the movement of a launch vehicle with a spacecraft and is intended for automated control of the preparation and launch of space rockets.

Expressing his impressions, Rustam Minnikhanov highly appraised the Vostochny launching facility and wished its team success in their work which is difficult and very important for the country.

During their flight from the Vostochny to Blagoveshchensk, Vasiliy Orlov told the Rais of the republic about the key infrastructural facilities of the region and from the air they looked over large-scale international and urban facilities, including the sites of the Amur Gas Processing Plant and the Amur Gas Chemical Complex, the international automobile bridge across the Amur River, the Kanikurgan customs and logistics terminal, the new bridge across the Zeya River, as well as the terminal under construction for the unique Blagoveshchensk-Hehe cross-border cableway and the renovated Amur River embankment.
