Rustam Minnikhanov: Bugulma region is one of the industrial centers of our republic

On 21 February, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the Council of Bugulma region which summarized results of its work in social and economic development in 2025 and set tasks for 2026 held in the Youth Palace of Bugulma. 

Before the beginning of the meeting, the Rais of the republic saw off trucks with humanitarian aid to sponsored territories and got acquainted with an exposition dedicated to achievements and plans of the development of Bugulma on the eve of its 250th anniversary. 

In his summary report the Head of Bugulma region Damir Fattakhov emphasized that the priority task is the support of participants of the special military operation (SMO) and their families, and volunteers, enterprises and social activists of the city  are making a big contribution into a common cause. Thus last year 265 tonnes of humanitarian aid was sent to the SMO area and it is planned to open a federal rehabilitation center for SMO participants and veterans in the city in 2027.

He also reported about work done in capital overhaul of healthcare, sports, school education spheres and the modernization of the communal infrastructure in 2025 and plans to be implemented and money allocated in 2026 such as capital overhaul of 21 houses with 321m rubles already allocated on this purpose, 19 courtyards to be improved by “The Our Yard” regional programme.

Damir Fattakhov also informed about 18 public spaces improved in the region in the last 10 years and the record amount of 1bn 348m rubles allocated for repairs of municipal and regional road network.

Speaking about agriculture of the region, its Head said about 1 500 people work in this sphere and the total amount of investments into agribusiness made 4.2bn rubles last year due to which the region is one of the leaders in the development of the agro-industrial complex with having produced nearly 6.4bn rubles of products last year.

Damir Fattakhon also reported about progress made in the number of SMEs, the breakthrough projects for the development of the region, especially the Karabash Sea tourist and recreation zone with the potential private investments 7.2bn rubles and creation of 1 900 new and additional.

In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the main task for today is to support soldiers and their families and thanked work teams of the city and the region, the business community and all passionate residents of Bugulma for their support given to families of soldiers and humanitarian aid. 

He also noted that Bugulma is making a substantial contribution into economy of the republic with its GRP having amounted to 92.6bn rubles in 2025. However, the industrial development index made only 60 per cent, and the Rais of the republic called for the study of issues related to the economic recovery of enterprises. 

Rustam Minnikhanov also touched upon the amount of construction and capital overhaul work done in the region in 2025, the 12 per cent share of SMEs in its economy and emphasized that it is necessary to develop industrial parks and involve SMO veterans into entrepreneurship. 

He expressed his gratitude to agricultural workers who achieved breakthrough results in milk production and also spoke about situation in the housing and communal services complex, reminding that the republic allocated 12.6bn rubles on the regional programme of modernization of public utility infrastructure facilities.

The Rais of the republic also spoke about complaints from residents concerning the public transport and gave an errand to pay close attention to the issue of improving this system in Bugulma.

Speaking about school education, he noted that schools, along with families, are responsible for shaping shared values ​​and a constructive worldview in adolescents.

Rustam Minnikhanov also called for special attention to be paid to issues of road safety, staffing of medical institutions, and the safe operation of housing stock, including the timely removal of snow and ice from roofs.

In conclusion of the meeting the Rais of the republic handed in a number of state awards.
