Rustam Minnikhanov: It is important that in the Year of Military and Labour valor each employee and veteran feels that his contribution into the common case is really appreciated

On 20 February upon his arrival to the Kazan Red Banner Higher Tank Command School of the Order of Zhukov (KHTCS) where he came to take part in organizing committees on results of events held during the Year of the Defender of Fatherland in 2025 and tasks for holding the Year of Military and Labor Valor in 2026, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov laid flowers to the stele “To Heroes – graduates of the KHTCS”.

Welcoming participants of the meeting, the regional Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva reported that the planned events in the Year of the Defender of Fatherland were fully implemented in 2025 with more than 1000 of large scale events which covered all municipalities and involved representatives of various ages. She especially mentioned the project “Heroes of Fatherland” being implemented in the Volga Federal District since 2018 which has enormous importance for patriotic education of the youth and where the republic occupied the third place by results of 2025.

Leyla Fazleeva also stated that a large number of implemented events were related to the work carried out with participants in the Special Military Operation and their family members.

“In the Year of Military and Labor Valor, it is planned to focus attention on the defenders of the Fatherland and working people, as well as on enterprises whose contribution to the development of the republic and the country is invaluable,” the regional Deputy Prime Minister said.

Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that events implemented in the Year of the Defender of Fatherland have shown the importance and necessity of continuing this work in the Year of Military and Labor Valor. “All events must be held at a high organizational and substantive level paying special attention to issues related to providing medical and social help as well as support measures for participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO). By an errand from the Russian Defense Minister no less than 90 per cent of state and municipal services provided to participants of the SMO and their families must be in the e-form which ensure their transparency and speed of their provision,” the Rais of the republic said.

He attracted attention to the fact that issues of providing support to the fallen SMO soldiers and employment of military actions veterans must be under special control of the heads of municipalities.

Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke about the Batyrlar (Heroes) programme and gave an errand to celebrate the 81th anniversary of the Great Victory at the high level, to provide support to every WWII veteran and surround them with attention and care. He also reminded that the regions are still monitoring the orders of the Russian "Victory" organizing committee to renovate the housing of WWII veterans, restore facilities commemorating the heroic deeds of the home front, and organize educational projects for young people. In addition, it is necessary to complete the installation of a stele in Zelenodolsk in connection with the city being awarded the honorary title of "City of Labor Valor" by the Russian Federation.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is carrying out a large scale work in patriotic education of the growing generation which is its priority and gave an errand to complete all planned work to perpetuate the memory of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia.

“We are facing the most important task of fulfilling the action plan dedicated to the Year of Military and Labour Valor in full.  Each memorable date of the Days of Military Glory of Russia calendar should be reflected in our work. It is important not just to inform but also to actively involve the population in them,” he said and gave several examples of such actions.

The Rais of the republic noted that enterprises of the republic together with trade unions should provide a comprehensive support to home front workers, veterans of branches of industry and participants of the SMO. “It is not just planned work. It is our moral duty and a concrete task to fulfill qualitatively,” he said and added: “It is important that in the Year of Military and Labor Valor, every worker and veteran feels that their contribution to the common cause is truly appreciated.”

In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated participants of the meeting with the upcoming Day of the Defender of Fatherland.
