Rais of Tatarstan hands in Order Duslyk (Friendship) to the WWII veteran Aleksey Komlev

On 20 February at an event held at the Kazan Red Banner Higher Tank Command School of the Order of Zhukov before meetings of organizing committees on results of events held during the Year of the Defender of Fatherland in 2025 and tasks for holding the Year of Military and Labor Valor in 2026, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed in the Order Duslyk (Friendship) to the veteran of the Great Patriotic War (WWII)  Aleksey Komlev who celebrated his 100th birthday on 2 February. 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rais of the republic emphasized that the biography of Aleksey Komlev is a part of history of our country and said:” Hundreds of officer who are now on guard of interests of the Motherland have been raised under your leadership.” 

He particularly noted the officer dynasty of Alexei Komlev having said: “You have not only walked a glorious path yourself, but also passed on the baton of serving the Fatherland to your son and grandson. Such dynasties are a reliable stronghold and pride of the entire country.” 

“You belong to a legendary generation of Victors who bore the burdens of wartime on its shoulders and gave us life and freedom. It is a great honour for me to hand in the high state award of Tatarstan – the Order Duslyk – to you. Let it become a symbol of national recognition of your services to the Fatherland and the republic,” Rustam Minikhanov said, addressing the veteran.

In his turn Aleksey Komlev thanked the leadership of the republic for attention and support of veterans.
