Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of launching a new refrigerators plant in Nizhnekamsk

On 17 February during their working trip to Nizhnekamsk, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mikhail Yurin and the Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov took part in a ceremony of putting into operation a new Sovital plant which will manufacture refrigerating equipment for retail and catering.

The enterprise has a well-organized full cycle production with the level of localization more than 65 per cent, and, speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the objective of the project is to provide refrigerators to the Russian market and to decrease dependence from foreign suppliers. “The plant has been built in a very short time and has become a substantial contribution into the technological leadership and industrial sustainability of our country. Investment into its construction made about 1bn rubles, its capacity is production of 50 thousand units a year with the prospect of reaching 100 thousand,” he said.  

He noted that the project has been implemented with the support of the Industry Development fund which invested 295n rubles given by the Fund as a soft loan by the flagship programme and made it possible to procure modern equipment and to start production quickly.

The plant has become another resident of the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Park  where Rustam Minnikhanov also visited the Biotex plant which has a full cycle of microfiber production, where he got acquainted with the industrial process and evaluated the manufactured samples.
