Rustam Minnikhanov meets the first Consul General of India in Kazan Mister Jaisundkhar

On 4 February at his meeting with the first Consul General of India in Kazan Mister Jaisundkhar, welcoming his guest the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov wished him fruitful work at his new position.

It is envisaged that the opening of the Indian General Consulate will strengthen economic, political and cultural ties and facilitate the development of inter-regional cooperation and, speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan attaches great attention to the development of cooperation with India within the framework of traditionally friendly Russia-India relations.

He said he is sure that joint work for strengthening interaction and economic and cultural ties will be successful. ” We will work together to further develop Tatarstan-Indian cooperation,” the Rais of the republic stated.

It was noted at the meeting that the republic has gained a substantial experience of interaction with India and there is a specific contractual and legal framework for cooperation with the regions of India and an agreement is in force between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tatarstan and the Confederation of Indian Industries.

Rustam Minnikhanov also mentioned that the first business forum “TIME: Russia-India. Mutual efficiency” was held in Kazan in October 2025 and the second forum is being prepared.
