Rustam Minnikhanov meets Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak

On 2 February, speaking at his meeting with the Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak on the sidelines of the Forum held in Oman, which Turkey is the partner-country of, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that the republic traditionally attaches great attention to the development of cooperation with Turkey and considers itself to be an efficient link between two countries.

He informed that according to the results of nine months last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkey exceeded 3bn dollars US.  At the same time, the parties agreed that the potential for cooperation has not yet been fully realized.

The Rais of the republic reminded about key projects being implemented by Turkish companies in the republic and expressed his readiness to develop the mutually beneficial cooperation further.

In his turn Sezai Uçarmak thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for the meeting and noted a special role of Kazan for Turkey. He said that Tatarstan facilitates the expansion of cooperation between Russia and Turkey and, when considering opportunities of investments into Russia, Turkish companies first of all pay attention to the republic.

The Turkish Deputy Minister also informed that in the current year Turkey will be represented by a large delegation at the KazanForum.
