Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a ceremony of opening the Oman International Trade Exhibition OMNEX 2026 in Masqat

On 2 February the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of opening the Oman International Trade Exhibition OMNEX 2026 in Masqat which is dedicated to issues of innovations, modern technologies and tourism.

It is for the first time that Tatarstan is taking part in this exhibition and it has its own exposition there which representatives of the Oman Royal family, including His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki bin Mahmoud Al Said and the President of the World Ethnosport Federation Bilal Erdoğan, the son of the Turkish President, and other officials looked round before the official opening ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minikhanov thanked organizers for the invitation and stated that Tatarstan is the region of the developed economy based on innovations and modern technologies and continuously studies best world practices, implementing new approaches. He said that one of key tasks of the republic is attracting investors.

He also told about conditions created for the investors in the region and invited representatives of Oman business to visit Tatarstan. In his speech, the Rais of the republice paid special attention to the topic of partnership financing, emphasizing that the first in the world representative office of the AAOIFI opened in Kazan.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that all main tools of Islamic financing developed by specialists of the republic and certified by the AAOIFI are represented at the Tatarstan market.

Having emphasized that the Islamic world countries remain one of the most important areas of foreign activity of the republic, he invited participants of the current Forum to take part in the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world: KazanForum”.

The Rais of the republic informed that Tatarstan actively cooperates with partners from Muslim countries in the trade, economic and cultural spheres and reminded that on the errand of the leadership of Russia he is the Head of the “Russia-the Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group.
