Rustam Minnikhanov gives and errand to monitor situation on highways because of snow storms and organize round-the clock work of road and communal services

On 31 January, at a Saturday meeting held in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov gave a number of errands.

He emphasized that heavy snowfalls and blizzards in the region in recent days have created difficult conditions on roads and highways, significantly increasing the load on road and utility services and causing traffic accidents. “In these conditions, our task is to ensure the safety of citizens and the sustainable functioning of the road and public utility infrastructure,” the Rais of the republic said and gave an errand to the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Economy, the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic, the Emergencies Ministry and the State Housing Inspection together with heads of cities and regions to organized round-the clock work of all road, utility and emergency services and to ensure timely clearing of snow from highways, the road and street network of populated areas and public spaces. On top of that it is important to ramp up control over management companies and property owners regarding the maintenance of courtyards, driveways, and sidewalks and to control snow and ice removal from roofs and entrance structures of multi-apartments houses, social and commercial facilities with large numbers of people present.

Rustam Minnikhanov stated that because of difficult weather conditions there will be many complaints from residents and asked all responsible persons to give a quick response to these complaints and to keep the situation under constant control.

At the meeting the Rais of the republic informed about participation of a Tatarstan delegation in the largest world food industry exhibition Gulfood held in the United Arab Emirates and said that Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and the Director General of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina gave high assessment to the exposition of the republic.

He thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic and all those who took part in the preparation of the Tatarstan exposition at the Gulfood exhibition for their work.
