Aleksey Pesoshin: In 2025 employees of the Emergencies Ministry have done much work on ensuring safety of populations and territories

On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.

In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.

The main causes of fires are careless handling of fire, violations of the rules for the installation and operation of electrical equipment and furnaces, Irek Kadamov said and informed about 409 checks carried out to supervise compliance with fire safety requirements, civil defense and protection of the population and territory from emergency situations, as well as 692 preventive visits in the area of ​​fire safety.

He also said that the prevention of deaths in fires involves equipping the living quarters of large families, people in difficult life situations, and those in socially dangerous situations with autonomous fire alarm which already saved 319 people including 104 kids.

Irek Kadamov reported about 95 incidents on water bodies, resulting in the death of 82 people, including 4 children, and the rescue of 49 people and informed about a set of preventive measures developed and implemented to ensure safety of people on water bodies in summer.

His report also covered results of work in preventing boat accidents and of fire stations in the republic in 2025 and the work in improvement of the facilities of the Directorate and the Ministry such as construction of two fire depos and capital overhaul of six units.

In his turn Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that the Main Directorate and the Tatarstan Ministry have done much work on ensuring safety of population and territories and said: “I thank the administration and all employees who, despite their serious work load, demonstrate the highest professionalism in their activity.”

Regarding the tasks for the current year, the Prime Minister of the republic called for the continuation of the implementation of the Plan for bringing civil defense structures in the republic up to standard and to provide methodological assistance to municipalities and organizations in preparing all necessary documents.

He emphasized that the current year will be filled with various political and social events, such as the Year of the Unity of People of Russia, and the Year of Military and Labour Valour as well as the International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic world:KazanForum” in May  and elections to the Russian State Duma of the IX convocation in September..

“We face serious challenges. The most important thing is to maintain the existing positive trends in improving the security of the population and the territory of the republic. I am sure that the personnel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Tatarstan and the Ministry of Civil Defense of the republic will continue to demonstrate high professionalism and a focus on results,” the regional Prime Minister said.

In the end of the meeting Aleksey Pesoshin and Irek Kadamov handed in regional and branch awards to the most outstanding employees.
