Rustam Minnikhanov: Despite the difficult situation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs system operates reliably and steadily

On January 22, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Chairman of the State Council of the republic Farid Mukhametshin, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Rais of the republic Asgat Safarov, the Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan Viktor Demidov and heads of government agencies, supervisory bodies, members of the board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan, heads of structural divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, heads of territorial internal affairs bodies took part in an extended summing up meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tatarstan, which considered the results of operational and service activities of internal affairs agencies and units for 2025 and set tasks for the current year.

Making a keynote report, Minister of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan Damir Satretdinov summed up the results of 2025 and emphasized that the agency had fulfilled its tasks of ensuring citizen safety and maintaining public order. "In 2025, public order and safety were ensured during 5,000 socio-political, cultural and sporting events. For the first time in five years, the republic achieved a decline in crime. The number of crimes committed by previously convicted individuals, as well as domestic offenses and intoxication offenses has decreased. The number of crimes committed with firearms has decreased by almost a quarter. The clearance rate for murders, grievous bodily harm, rape and armed robberies remains almost 100%," the minister said.

Satretdinov also noted a decrease in the number of registered crimes in the IT sector, noting that approximately half of all crimes in this category (more than 15,000) are thefts. He also emphasized the relevance of this problem and drew attention to the need to develop new measures to combat it. Particular attention was paid to identifying and solving terrorist crimes, combating organized crime and illegal arms and drug trafficking. Residents of the republic have received more than 2,600,000 government services. Citizen satisfaction with their quality reached 100%. Setting goals for the upcoming period, the head of the Ministry emphasized preventing deterioration of the operational situation, despite the high workload on the staff.

Rustam Minnikhanov praised the operational and service results of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan, emphasizing that the republic will continue to support law enforcement agencies to create the necessary conditions for efficient service.

At the end of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov and Damir Satretdinov handed in state and departmental awards to particularly distinguished employees.
