Rais of Tatarstan: It is important that all planned events during New Year holidays are held at a proper level with ensuring safety measures

On 3 January, speaking at a regional meeting in the Government House of the republic, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov stated that is important that all planned events during New Year holidays are held at a proper level with ensuring safety measures.

He informed that all events dedicated to the New Year celebrations in the cities and districts of the republic, in general, passed without major incidents. “However we had certain troubles with enemy UAV raids.  It should be noted that the military did a very good job. Preventative measures to prepare facilities minimized the risks that could occur as a result of these attacks,” Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized.

Speaking about celebrations of the Orthodox Christmas, the Rais of the republic congratulated all believers with the coming holiday and said: “Local administrations, the Tatarstan Metropole together with law enforcement bodies and units of the Emergencies Ministry must take measures to ensure public order and fire safety.”

On top of that, addressing participants of the meeting, the Rais of the republic emphasized that that much work lies ahead to further strengthen socio-political stability, interethnic and interfaith peace and harmony, public order and security, and the defense capability of the country in the republic. “We will continue to actively increase the growth rate of economic sectors, ensure stable development of the social sphere, and implement federal and regional programs aimed at improving the quality of life of Tatarstan residents. I am sure that by joint coordinated work we will implement all tasks we are facing successfully,” he added.
