Rais of Tatarstan meets Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees

On 26, speaking at his meeting with the Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa who came to take part in events dedicated to the opening of the AAOIFI representative center in Kazan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that opening of the center is an important event as it will become a backbone hub for the development of partnership financing standard not only in Russia but all across the CIS countries. The center will become a key link in the integration of Islamic financial instruments into the economies of countries and strengthening ties with the  expert community of the Commonwealth, he stated.

“The center is a tool for the development of international investments interaction and promotion of investment potential of Russian regions. It is important for us to build a sustainable and trusting dialogue with investors from the Islamic world. The existence of the official representative office of the AAOIFI will ensure the implementation of uniform, generally recognized standards of Islamic financing,” the Rais of the republic emphasized. 

He informed that the AAOIFI is a traditional participant of the KazanForum which this year for the first time hosted the off-premise International Conference on Partnership Financing.

Rustam Minnikhanov also conveyed words of greetings and respect to the King of Bahrain, His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. ”He is our good friend. We highly appreciate our cooperation. I am sure that friendly bonds of Tatarstan and Bahrain will continue strengthening,” he added.  

In his turn Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa passed Rustam Minnikhanov warm words of greeting from the King of Bahrain. He also emphasized that His Majesty appreciates his relations with the Russian President. 

The Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for support in opening the AAOIFI Representative Centre and gave high assessment to the level of partnership financing in the republic, expressing confidence that the new center will contribute to its further development.
