Rustam Minnikhanov at a ceremony of opening perinatal center: This is a landmark event not just for Almetyevsk but for our whole republic

On 22 December during his working trip to Almetyevsk municipality, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a ceremony of opening a modern perinatal center of Almetyevsk inter-regional multi-profile hospital.

The construction of the facility for 168 female and 85 newborn beds, which is socially important for the city, began in May 2024 and was completed very quickly using the advanced engineering solutions.

This is a state clinic with a department of assisted reproductive technologies (ART) which meets the need for high-quality medical care for women and newborns throughout the southeast of the republic.

For the first time a hybrid operating room has been installed outside of Kazan (after Regional Clinical Hospital No. 7), and a service for comprehensive monitoring of fetal development has been created to identify risks and pathologies at early stages.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today is a landmark event not just for Almetyevsk but for our whole republic. There are not many such modern perinatal centers even in our entire country. Today, the focus is on healthcare. More than 6 billion rubles have been invested in the project. My main wish for the perinatal center team is to be the best and for many children to be born.”

He also stated that this center will also become an incentive for expectant mothers to have children.

“It is important for expectant moms to know where and how they will give birth so that there are minimal risks. May our demographic situation become positive due to this facility,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the facility designers and construction workers and to people who move to live in Almetyevsk.
