Rais of Tatarstan takes part in work of a collegium of the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow

On 17 December during his working trip to Moscow, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an expanded meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Welcoming participants of the meeting, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, who is Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, noted that the outgoing year has become an important stage in solving the tasks of the special military operation and the Russian Army has won and firmly holds the strategic initiative along the entire front line. “We are proud of the exploits of our soldiers and officers fighting on the front lines, and of all those who defend Russia and the safety of our citizens,” the Head of the state said and declared a minute of silence in memory of those who died for the Motherland. 

Vladimir Putin noted that that despite the challenging conditions, Russian troops are demonstrating high combat effectiveness and training, the capabilities of the Russian army keep developing and work to strengthen the Armed Forces has been ongoing in recent years.

Speaking about key tasks the Defense Ministry is facing today, the Russian President stated further high-quality work on modernizing the Armed Forces, primarily within the framework of the new State Armament Program for 2027–2036, taking into consideration experience of the special military operation, new trends in combat tactics and rapidly developing military technologies.
