Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at a ceremony of opening new polyclinics in Kazan: Issues of healthcare have always been and are priority for us

On 16 December  the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the member of the Russian State Duma Ayrat Farrakhov, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the regional Minister of Healthcare Almir Abashev and other officials took part in solemn ceremonies of opening the city policlinic№ 20 and the children’s policlinic № 11 in two residential blocks of Kazan.

Speaking at the ceremonies, the Rais of the republic emphasized: “Issues of healthcare have always been and are priority for us. It is quality of life of our citizens.”

“This year alone, 282 facilities worth 6.3 billion rubles were built and renovated within the framework of federal and regional projects”, he said and informed that the cost of the policlinic№ 20 is nearly 1bn 662m rubles. “This is a state-of-the-art building equipped with the latest technology. Such facilities are one of the kind,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.

During the ceremony of opening the children’s policlinic, which was hold via videoconference, the Rais of the republic told that the cost of the facility is 880m rubles and it was built by the federal programme with participation of the republic.

Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded that projects on modernization healthcare facilities are being implemented in the republic and the work will go on.

Later the same day in front of the policlinic№ 20 the Rais of the republic handed in Almir Abashev keys for nine new ambulances and said:” It has become a good tradition to give gifts. In the summer, we already donated cars to healthcare organizations. These nine vehicles, which we are handing over today, are also intended to organize the transportation of patients and improve the quality of medical care. “

He also emphasized that modern medicine is impossible without corresponding up-to-date equipment and congratulated everyone with the event.
